In a career spanning to 23 years, Amitabh held numerous leadership positions and had worked in diverse areas of taxation and advisory services. He has also served as the head of the firm's Governance Council and represented the firm at the regional and global councils in that capacity. As Tax Partner, he led a cross-functional team tasked with the drafting of VAT laws for Delhi, and training the officers of the Government of Delhi on implementation of VAT. He has been the relationship partner on many key global clients like American Express, BMW, SAP, IBM, Coca Cola, to name a few. He retired early from Ernst & Young India only to pursue his interests in education and training; mentoring and governance.
Ranga, as he is lovingly called, is a finance professional with 35 years of variegated experience in India and overseas. He qualified as a CA from Fraser & Ross and was later admitted as a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered accountants of India. He was also admitted as a member of other professional bodies while serving professional services firms. Ranganathan was a Senior Partner with Ernst & Young, one of the big four global firms. He served E&Y, India during its crucial growth phase for ten years in various capacities. He was also on the governing council of E&Y, India and often chaired its meetings to deliberate on partner admissions, their removal and the approval of partner compensations/remunerations besides other governance related matters of the firm, as a whole.
He had been the CEO, State Bank of India. A Former CEO, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur. And an ex CEO, State Bank of India (International), Mauritius. Plus, after a career spanning to almost forty years in the Indian banking, Sanjay Bhattacharya retired in 2010 as the Managing Director of State Bank of India, India's largest bank, by deposits. Prior to that, he held the top post at the State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, where he oversaw a 60% increase in revenues from $7Bn to $11Bn. This is not all, Sanjay Bhattacharya was a member of the Basel II Implementation and Risk Management Committee of the Indian Banks Association and a member of the Expert Committee on Banking and Finance of ASSOCHAM (Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India).
